Chennai Super Kings defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday to clinch the IPL 2021 title. With the triumph, MS Dhoni and company took their trophy tally to four (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021). 

While CSK, who had finished ninth last year, made a strong statement by acing the tournament, there were several players who put up sublime skills throughout their teams’ campaigns tis year.

Here is a list of all the IPL 2021 award winners:

Most valuable player of the season: Harshal Patel (RCB)

Purple cap: Harshal Patel – 32 wickets (joint highest ever in IPL with Dwayne Bravo) in 15 games, one 5-wicket haul, one 4-wicket haul

Gamechanger of the season: Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel, who is yet to make his international debut for India, picked 32 wickets in 15 games, a one-season record that he shares with CSK’s Dwayne Bravo (2013). Patel was named the Most valuable player of the season and Gamechanger of the season. He also finished as the purple cap holder. 

Following Harshal on the purple cap list were Delhi Capitals’ Avesh Khan with 24 wickets and Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians) and Shardul Thakur (Chennai Super Kings) with 21 each.

Orange cap: – Ruturaj Gaikwad – 635 runs in 16 games – 1 hundred, 4 fifties

Emerging player of the season: Ruturaj Gaikwad.  

Scoring 32 runs off 27 balls in the final against the Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad became the season’s highest run-scorer. He finished IPL 2021 with 635 runs in 16 games. The 24-year-old was closely followed by Chennai teammate Faf du Plessis (633 runs) and KL Rahul (626 runs). 

Power player of the season: Venkatesh Iyer

One of the key factors behind Kolkata Knight Riders’ comeback in the UAE-leg was opener Venkatesh Iyer’s form. The 26-year-old finished the season with 370 runs in 10 games at an average of 41.11. He scored half-centuries in Qualifier 2 and in the final against Chennai Super Kings.

Maximum Sixes: KL Rahul with 30 sixes.

Super striker of the season: – Shimron Hetmyer – strike rate 168.

Catch of the season: Ravi Bishnoi – taking Narine’s catch in Ahmedabad with a full-length dive at deep mid-wicket.

Fairplay award: Rajasthan Royals.
