Cincinnati Bengals as per media reports is signing Orlando Brown Jr., former Kansas City offensive tackle to a 4-year, $64 million contract. The left tackle is also to receive a $31 million signing bonus as part of the deal, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. 

Brown will now play left tackle thus Jonah Williams could move to the right side. The 26-year-old Brown is a 4-time Pro Bowler and is easily the Bengals’ best-left tackle since Andrew Whitworth.

Brown was to play for the Chiefs in 2022 by using their franchise tag on him before the March 8 deadline last offseason. But the two parties were not able to reach an agreement on a long-term contract before the July 15 deadline. Brown reported to the training camp and signed his one-year contract of $16.7 million on Aug. 2 after a brief holdout.

Brown initially played right tackle for the Ravens, but later he moved to left tackle in 2020 after Ronnie Stanley suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the eighth week.

According to the price Kansas City paid to get Brown from the Ravens, it seemed difficult to believe that the team was going to let him leave as a free agent after just two seasons.

But the majority of NFL fans and experts seemed to believe Brown Jr. is actually a right tackle. They still get a lot of money, but less than their left-sided peers.
