Miami Dolphins‘ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was injured and taken off the field after being slammed hard onto the ground against the Cincinnati Bengals. The incident occurred in the second quarter of the Dolphins vs Bengals game of Week 4. Bengals led 7-6 as the play happened.

Bengals’ defensive tackle Josh Tupou took the player down as he was looking to pass the ball. 

Miami Dolphins confirmed the players’s injury on Twitter.

Just last week, the QB suffered back and ankle injuries during his team’s 21-19 win over the Buffalo Bills. Many players have come out praying for the player after learning of his injury.

Kansas City Chiefs’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes tweeted,” Prayers up Man @Tua.”

Russell Wilson who is currently the QB for Denver Broncos also tweeted,” Prayers for you @Tua.

Marquise Brown commonly known as Hollywood Brown came in support of the player from Miami after learning about his injury. In a tweet, he just mentioned the player’s name along with hands folded for prayers. 

Tua Tagovailoa has been in scintillating form this season as he is currently second in most passing touchdowns with eight and passing yards with 925 on the NFL’s stats list. The Dolphins are the only 3-0 team in the AFC till now and lead the conference’s East division. 

AFC East comprises of Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and New England Patriots. The team has so far defeated the Patriots and Bills and will face the Jets in Week 5.

There was a lot of chatter prior to the game about whether or not the Dolphins’s quarterback should be placed on concussion protocols or not. But on Sunday, he underwent proper concussion protocol, as said by NFL  executive vice president Jeff Miller. 

After returning to the game following a halftime evaluation of a head injury against the Bills, the NFL Players Association launched an investigation to determine whether concussion protocols were properly enforced.
