Damar Hamlin was attending Super Bowl LVII, where the Kansas City Chiefs outshined the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35. He sat beside Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner and Jason and Travis Kelce’s mother in the stands.

He wore a $3,150 Takashi Murakami “Travis Jesus” jacket with a modified crucifix on the back of it, and it really ticked Peterson off. Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson critically condemned Hamlin’s choice of attire at the event.

“You should be thanking God son! This is Blasphemy!! We all fall short but cmon man! I find this disrespectful,” said Peterson, according to TMZ.

Former running back Fred Taylor responded to Peterson saying, “You should DM him, bro. I’m sure he’s listen to your opinion. Posting it doesn’t help anyone. He’s young, young ppl don’t always think before they wear things just like people who wear skulls and other things that doesn’t align with Christian beliefs. Try to reach him.”

But Peterson wasn’t aligned with the thoughts of Taylor as he replied that the scenario here was different. He agreed with the fact that young people don’t think before wearing, and not even older do. “But with everything surrounding his situation!! This isn’t one of those moments where it’s a young guy not thinking!” he again showed resentment.

So I spoke with [Damar], and we were able to discuss our thoughts as men. I want to be clear, I’m the last person to judge anyone, and that was never my intention, said Peterson, reported TMZ.

Hamlim reportedly hasn’t responded publicly to the situation till now. It was evident that Hamlin’s recovery was going well as he was able to attend the game and also come down to the field. Cardiac arrest is not something that everyone survives and it takes a long to recover from.

Doctors assured him that he could play the game again if he wants, so his health won’t be the end of his career right now.
