Jalen Hurts, quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, struck the iconic Heisman pose after executing a jump pass for a touchdown against the Washington Commanders on Monday. The two sides locked horns at the Lincoln Financial Field.

Hurts was on fire. The QB started off with a one-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter to take Philadelphia 7-0 up in the game. The 24-year-old minutes later  channeled Tim Tebow to hit Dallas Goedert with a jump pass for a TD. He struck the  Heisman pose afterwards.

In the 2019 college football season, Hurts, who played for Alabama before joining Oklahoma in his senior season, produced a Heisman finalist. He was runner-up to Joe Burrow. 

Hurts compiled 4,889 yards of total offense (3,634 passing, 1,255 rushing) that season.

What is the Heisman pose? 

The Heisman pose is a gesture where a player extends the arm out in a stiff arm motion, lifts one knee up and holds the ball close to their body.

Michigan’s Desmond Howard struck the pose 31 years ago. 

Washington Commanders Safety Darrick Forrest intercepted a deep ball from Jalen Hurts in the second quarter. The Eagles trailed 20-14 at half-time.

Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts and wide receiver DeVonta Smith were rocking flashy suits on their way to play the Monday Night Football game. 

In the first tie between the teams earlier this season, the Eagles won comfortably at 24-8. Hurts threw three passing touchdowns to his wide receivers, Smith, A.J Brown and tight end Dallas Goedert. 

Philadelphia are on their best start to an NFL season since the team’s formation in 1933. The Eagles, only unbeaten team in the league, won eight on a trot.
