British talk-show host Piers Morgan reacted after Lionel Messi and Argentina reached the final of the FIFA World Cup 2022 beating Croatia 3-0. He said Lionel Messi is ‘possibly’ the fourth best player in the world with Diego Maradona at second and Ronaldo Nazario in third. No prizes for guessing the top spot, according to Morgan, went to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Piers Morgan was key in Ronaldo’d fallout with his former club Manchester United. The 37-year-old gave Morgan an interview in which he made explosive claims about Manchester United and the current head coach Erik Ten Hag.

Ronaldo said that Ten Hag disrespected him and as a result, he has no respect for the United manager. He alleged that the club owners runs the club as a marketing venture and have done little to build the infrastructure around the club.
Following the interview, United and Ronaldo mutually agreed to terminate their contract, making Ronaldo a free agent.

However, the 37-year-old failed to make an impact in the FIFA World Cup as Portugal was knocked out of the tournament by underdogs Morocco in the quarter-final. He was benched in the Round of 16 match against South Korea and his replacement young Goncalo Ramos scored a memorable hattrick.
During the quarter-final loss to Morocco, Ronaldo started on the bench and was brought onto the pitch in the 52nd minute. He had a lot of time to make an impact but failed to do so eventually.
