Pittsburgh Steelers’ Kenny Pickett was hit by Buffalo Bills’ defensive end Shaq Lawson on his left knee in the fourth quarter of his side’s 38-3 loss to the Bills. The player landed awkwardly on the ground.

AJ Epenesa was disqualified from the game after the incident. The game was played at the Bills Stadium in New York.

As soon as Lawson hit Pickett, the player immediately returned the favor by shoving Lawson back, before other players including  Chukwuma Okorafor, an offensive tackle for the Steelers, also intervened. The visiting team players just covered Lawson from every side and tried to move him from near Pickett who was livid after his fall.

The NFL has been struck with many major injuries during the first five weeks of the season, namely Tua Tagavailoa’s nasty head and a neck injury that he suffered against the same Bills team in Week 3. 

The Bills had a very comfortable 38-3 lead over the Steelers and were looking to end the game as quickly as possible. But the Steelers QB was in no mood to back down, attempting passes even in the later stages of this blow-out loss.

Buffalo had Josh Allen scoring four touchdowns in the game. He passed for 350 yards in the first half alone, which became his new career high. During the same time, he also became the fourth player with the most passing touchdowns throws in the first five years of his NFL career and also became the league leader in passing TDs thrown this season. He is closely followed by Lamar Jackson of Baltimore Ravens and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Kenny Pickett ended the game with 34 completed passes out of 52 attempts for 327 yards but also threw an interception. None of the Steelers’ running backs could carry the football for more than 30 yards even.
