Buffalo Bills defeated the Los Angeles Rams by a huge margin, 31-10 in the team’s opening day clash in the 2022 NFL Season. The game was played at Sofi Stadium, home of the Rams.

Running backs Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson both played in the match that had contrasting stats for both the players. Akers caught the football three times but did not have a single rushing yard to his score while Henderson had 13 carries for 47 yards in the match.

Despite being dubbed to play a major role for the Rams this year, Akers was not selected to participate in the opening drive for the team. He also did not get to play in the first quarter. The 2020 NFL Draft second-round player did see some football action in the second quarter when he had three carries. This was his stat line for the entire game. Akers was drafted by many football managers ahead of Henderson in the fantasy draft and this score of the player does not justify the selection for the player.

By the end of half-time, Henderson had completed 18 routes. Henderson has nine carries and three catches in the third quarter. The Rams offense continued to focus on feeding wide receiver Cooper Kupp with passes and the rest of the balls went to Henderson.

The Rams offense was very lackluster for the entire second half and did not score a single point in that time. It breaks the team’s record of 89 games of scoring at least a point in any half of a football game.

The reason was unclear from the standpoint of why Akers was not targeted that much by the quarterback Matthew Stafford who had three interceptions in the game. Akers was clearly the RB1 in fantasy football heading into Week 1 and his performance in the game will definitely see his stock dip in the coming weeks.
