San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey scored a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.

With his 3-yard touchdown run, Christian McCaffrey has now scored touchdowns in 16 straight games—both regular season and postseason games—extending his incredible touchdown streak. He started this incredible run on December 4, 2022, and so far, he has scored an astounding 20 touchdowns.

With this accomplishment, McCaffrey now separates himself from O.J. Simpson and John Riggins, who both previously held the record for the most touchdowns in 15 straight games. In addition, he has scored a touchdown in 13 straight regular-season games.

LaDainian Tomlinson, who scored in 18 straight regular-season games from October 3, 2004, to October 16, 2005, holds the all-time record in this category. He is only one score short of Hall of Famer Lenny Moore’s NFL record of 17.

Known by his initials CMC, Christian McCaffrey is a well-known American football running back who plays right now in the National Football League (NFL) for the San Francisco 49ers. In the 2017 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers selected him eighth overall after he played college football at Stanford.

McCaffrey has been one of the most prolific running backs in the NFL since joining the team. He was selected to the 2019 First Team All-Pro and has been to two Pro Bowls. McCaffrey is well-known for his versatility and his ability to block well in addition to running and receiving passes, making him a triple threat.

In 2015, McCaffrey was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and won the AP College Football Player of the Year award in his sophomore year. His NCAA record of 3,864 yards in a single season for the most all-purpose yards is a noteworthy accomplishment.

His career took a big turn in 2022 when he was dealt to the San Francisco 49ers. It is expected that he will be a key component of the 49ers’ offensive approach in 2023.
