The San Francisco 49ers take on the Seattle Seahawks in the first wildcard game of NFL 2022 at the Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara on Saturday.

California has experienced heavy rain over the past couple weeks. The weather forecast in Santa Clara calls for showers and strong winds. The current temperature at the Levi’s Stadium in 13°C.
Greg Dunn of the West Coast Turf told FoxWeather that the ‘grounds crew will do whatever is necessary to protect the field’.
“They’ll keep the field under a waterproof tarp as close to game time as possible. So the field will likely only be rained on if they get rain on Saturday, pregame and during the game,” said Dunn.

The Niners (13-4) are seeking a better result against the Seahawks (9-8) than they had last year against the Rams, when they blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead and lost 20-17 to Los Angeles in the NFC title game. Brock Purdy and co have an advantage over Seattle, after beating them 27-7 at home in Week 2 and 21-13 in December.

“For the most part we were just behind the sticks a lot,” Seattle quarterback Geno Smith said. “We were behind the chains and we were in second-and-longs and third-and-longs and that’s not a recipe for winning football for us.”
“I don’t really look at it as you have to beat someone three times. I just look at it as we have to beat them on Saturday,” Niners coach Shanahan said. “That’s the game, I don’t think the other games have to do with it.”
“Once you know each other that well, usually the game becomes simpler,” Shanahan added. “You don’t trick each other after that and usually teams are playing at a higher level by that third time.”
