Josh Davey and
Michael Leask were the standout performers in the bowling department as they
limited Oman to a total of 122 in 20 overs. Davey took three wickets for 25
runs in four overs while Leask added two wickets to his tally for 13 runs in
three overs.

Oman made a
shaky start to their innings as Jatinder Singh was sent to the pavilion for a
golden duck as he got run out by Mark Watt.

Good scores
from Aqib Ilyas (37 runs in 35 balls), skipper Zeeshan Maqsood (34 runs in 30
balls) and Mohammad Nadeem (25 runs in 21 balls) stabilized Oman’s innings while
no other batter registered an individual score of over seven runs.

The problem
of their innings was that the batsmen who scored did so with a poor strike rate
while others simply did not perform.

Scotland’s
batsmen were able to cruise through their innings as the openers George Munsey
(20 runs in 19 balls) and Kyle Coetzer (41 runs in 28 balls) gave a strong
start to the side.

The
momentum was carried forward by the next two batsmen. Matthew Cross (26 runs in
35 balls) played the role of a supporting batter while Richie Berrington played
a fiery innings by scoring 31 runs at a strike rate of 147.62.

Fayyaz Butt
and Khawar Ali were the only successful for Oman and took one wicket each. Josh
Davey won the man of the match award.
