Seattle Seahawks vs Atlanta Falcons week 3 game on Sunday was halted after reports emerged that there is an unlicensed drone at Lumen Field. Players were called off the field.

A similar incident occured on Saturday when the Washington Huskies vs Stanford Cardinal NCAA game was briefly delayed for an unidentified drone over the field.

“Seattle Seahawks game halted because of an unidentified drone hovering near the stadium. NFL and other leagues have written Congress about this. Comparing other facilities, there have been nearly 2,000 drone sightings near U.S. airports since 2021, according to DHS,” Aviation reporter at Politico Oriana Pawlyk tweeted.

The incident occured with just under seven minutes left in the fourth quarter. Officials abruptly stopped the game and asked players to move to the sideline.

The delay lasted less than ten minutes before the game was allowed to resume.

The Atlanta Falcons beat the Seattle Seahawks 27-23 to win their first game of the season.

Cordarrelle Patterson rushed for a career-high 141 yards and one touchdown, Marcus Mariota threw a 14-yard TD to rookie Drake London in the second half.

Patterson rumbled for 107 yards in the second half and the Falcons were able to avoid starting 0-3 for the second time in three seasons. Mariota used the pass game to pick up chunks of yards in the first half, then it was Patterson churning big plays in the run game.
