A snake entered the ground of the Baraspara Cricket Stadium, interrupting the ongoing India vs South Africa T20I. KL Rahul and the on-field umpires were informed about it by a few South African players. The ground personnel then, rushed in with the required tools, and in a few minutes, everything was resolved.

Earlier in the game, South Africa won the toss and elected to field first. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma came all guns blazing to give India a brilliant start with their 96-run partnership. KL Rahul especially showed intent, hitting Kagiso Rabada for a boundary in the very first ball of the innings. He followed it up with a pick-up shot pff the pads for a six, and a back foot punch four, off Parnell, as India quickly reached 36/0 after 4 overs.
Rohit Sharma was also in form, as he hit five fours and a six, as India finished with 57 in the powerplay. Their brilliant partnership also broke records, as they now have the most 50+ partnerships in T20Is (15), going past Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

However, the Indian duo didn’t stop their intensity after the powerplay ended, with Rahul hitting Andre Nortje for a six. After the game was interrupted by a snake, Rahul again went after Nortje, hitting the fast bowler for three fours and a six. The over went for 21 runs. However, it was Keshav Maharaj who broke the partnership, sending Rohit Sharma back to the pavilion for 43. The skipper pulled a short ball to deep midwicket, where Tristan Stubbs took an easy catch.

KL Rahul soon followed his suit, as Maharaj again striking for South Africa. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav then joined hand to rebuild the Indian innings.
