Rapper Snoop Dogg, NBA legend Magic Johnson and Drake paid their tribute to LeBron James after the Los Angeles Lakers star broke the NBA’s all-time scoring record in the game vs Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. The two sides locked horns at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

James, who needed 36 points to become NBA’s all-time highest scorer, surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s career total of 38,387, with 10.9 seconds left in the third quarter. The Lakers star achieved the feat in his 1410th career game. However, his 38 points were not enough to get Los Angeles a win. Oklahoma won 133-130.

“I would never ever in a million years dreamt this even better than what it is tonight,” James said. “I just want to say thank you to the Laker faithful. You guys are one of a kind. To be able to be in the presence of such a legend as great as Kareem, it’s very humbling.”

“It’s never gotten my juices flowing,” James told The Associated Press, when asked what the scoring record means to him.

“I’m there now because I never, ever thought about it. The only thing I ever thought about was winning championships, maybe a couple MVPs, maybe defensive player of the year. But scoring championships and records, I’m telling you, that was never on my mind.”
