The Weeknd  headlined the Super Bowl 2021 half-time show on February 8 following which, the  Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Kansas City Chiefs to conclude the NFL season. As the Grammy-winner celebrates his 31st birthday today, lets relive his spectacular performance. 

The Weeknd started the performance with his hit song, ‘Starboy.’ He then moved to a medley of songs such as ‘The Hills,’ ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘I Feel It Coming.’

He concluded the performance with another hit, ‘Blinding Lights’ from the album ‘After Hours.’ The song was a platinum US Billboard Hot 100 single.

The performance saw Weeknd in a red glitter jacket with hundreds of dancers in red jackets and white masks dancing around him. This was the first major global performance of the song as the world tour of the ‘After Hours’ has been delayed to 2022 due to the pandemic.

According to CBS News, Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan sang the national anthem before the kick-off, while H.E.R. performed “America the Beautiful.”

The half-time show has been featuring some of the top Hollywood artists throughout the years. Since 2011, artists such as Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Lady Gaga to Justin Timberlake have performed in the half-time show.
