Former India batsman Suresh Raina is a fine cricketer and was India’s go-to all-rounder for a long time and he didn’t disappoint once. With his batting prowess, he has guided the Indian national team to many victories and trophies.

Apart from being a brilliant batsman, he was also electric on the field and have some out-of-the-world catches to his name. He is also one of the cricketers who kept both the squad and the dressing room lively with his antics and fun-loving nature.

The batsman, who has a lot of stories to tell, in his book – “believe: What Life and Cricket Taught Me” – recalled one of the instances when he was mistaken for India great Sachin Tendulkar‘s son Arjun Tendulkar.

The incident occurred in 2006 during a series, where the Indian players were seated in the business class.

During the flight, an air hostess came up to Tendulkar for an autograph and mistakenly addressed Raina as Tendulkar’s son, Arjun.

“Hi Arjun, How are you? How is your mom?” she said, Raina recalled. However, before Raina could reply and clarify, Tendulkar decided to have some fun and told the air hostess that both of them are doing fine but Anjali (Sachin’s wife) was upset with him (Arjun) for not focusing on his studies lately.

It was only later when the air hostess realised her mistake and apologised to Raina later.

Meanwhile, Raina will be next seen playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the second leg of the Indian Premier League 2021 which is scheduled to begin on September 19.

He retired from international cricket last year on the same day as former India captain MS Dhoni.

In the first half of the IPL, CSK won five of their seven games and was placed second when the league was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
