India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. India and South Africa are meeting in Perth on Sunday for an epic Super 12 clash in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The Men in Blue are in a good spot after winning two successive matches against the Netherlands and earlier against arch-rival Pakistan

South Africa will also be coming into the match with a convincing win against Bangladesh, making it a good contest where the winners of Sunday’s match will secure a berth in the semifinals.

The match is expected to be a high-voltage saga that will go on till the 20th over. The weather report before the match has predicted that rains will not be affecting the contest on Sunday.

Team India will be considered favourites to win the match as they defeated the Proteas in a T20 series at home earlier in September. However, the conditions in Australia are different and the team will have a big task ahead. The incredible form of the batting order and especially of Virat Kohli will be a relief for the Indian fans ahead of the match. In fact, Kohli’s brilliant 53-ball 82 against Pakistan in the Men in Blue’s opening match against Pakistan has rekindled India’s hopes of bringing the World Cup home again.

The former India captain is on the cusp of becoming the highest T20 World Cup run scorer and Sunday would be a good chance for the 33-year-old to add a new feather to his cap. With 989 runs in the tournament, Kohli is just 28 runs short of former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jawardane’s 1016. He has everything to play for on Sunday, it would seem.
