Former India great Virender Sehwag urged
wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha to take a deep breath and reveal the name of the
journalist. Wriddhiman recently shared a screenshot of disrespectful messages from a journalist who threatened the cricketer for not giving him or her an interview.

Last week on Saturday as Saha shared the screenshot
of Whatsapp messages, the cricket fraternity expressed its solidarity with
Wriddhiman. Sehwag was one of the first cricketers to come out in support of the
wicketkeeper-batter and asked him not to hide the name.

“Dear Wriddhi, it’s not your nature to harm
others and you are a wonderful guy. But to prevent such harm from happening to
anyone else in the future , it’s important for you to name him. Gehri saans le,
aur naam bol daal(take a deep breath, and reveal the name)”, tweeted
Sehwag.

A former opener Sehwag said it is important for
Wriddhiman to reveal the name of the journalist as it could “prevent such
harm from happening to anyone else in the future”.

Later when BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal asked the
Bengal cricketer to name the journalist, Wriddhiman Saha took to Twitter to explain why he
should not do that as his intention was not to harm anybody’s career.

“I was hurt and offended. I thought not to
tolerate such kind of behaviour and didn’t want anyone to go through these kind
of bullying. I decided I will go out and expose the chat in public eye, but not
his/her name”, Saha explained.

“I thank each and everyone who has shown
support and extended their willingness to help. My gratitude”, he
concluded.

Wriddhiman Saha has recently been dropped from the
Indian team for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Saha later said
that head coach Dravid told him to consider retirement as he is unlikely to be
considered for the future series as the team wants to groom a youngster for the
future.
