Taylor Swift did wonders for Sunday Night Football after she showed up at the Arrowhead stadium at the Kansas City Chiefs versus Chicago Bears game on September 24.
Sunday night’s game drew an impressive total audience of 24.32 million viewers. It also ended up scoring the highest among female demographics. Most of the female audience who watched the game were between the ages of 12-17 and 18-49 this week.
While some of the women might have tuned in to watch Patrick Mahomes score touchdowns, and the game itself, it was understood that a majority of the viewers in that demographic tuned in after the camera panned into the Chiefs VIP box revealing that the ‘Lover’ singer had joined the team’s tight end Travis Kelce’s family to cheer on the star athlete. Her appearance also added a lot of fuel to the already existing fiery rumors of a potential brewing romance between Kelce and Swift.
Swift was seen visibly interacting with Kelce’s mother, Donna, as the Chiefs completely wiped out the competition, finishing the game with a score of 10-41. According to Variety, Swit’s appearance likely boosted the game’s ratings.
When compared to last year’s figures, the game just barely missed the mark by 8%. 2022’s Game of the Week performance recorded a total of 26.4 million viewers. Even the ratings took a hit in comparison to the previous year’s figures in the adults 18-49, 25-54 demographics. It lacked 5% in the 18-34 demographic. Nevertheless, the Sunday night broadcast marked the most-watched telecast of the week on any network.

Donna calls Taylor Swift a ‘lovely person’ after she interacted with the singer during Sunday Night Football this week. TMZ published a report that said that Taylor and Travis are not “officially” dating, but are definitely headed in that direction. Sources told the publication that Travis’ NFL game was not the first time they were together as they have been together “several times” over the last few months.
