“Due to the extreme weather and power outages affecting our region, kickoff for today’s game has been postponed one hour to 1 p.m. CT,” the Titans said in a statement.

“This decision was made in partnership with the NFL, Office of Emergency Management, Nashville Electric Service and the Mayor’s Office in an abundance of caution to ensure that the game would not negatively impact our community in any way. It has been reported by several outlets that more than 20 lives were lost in the blizzards last week. Among them, at least seven were in New York’s Buffalo alone, while the rest were spread across eight states, mostly in the North.

“At this time, seven people have died as a result of the storm in Erie County. There could be more,” county executive Mark Poloncarz told the media last week.

It was also reported that more than 1.7 million homes were without electricity due to the storm. Several flights were also canceled as air travel was not deemed safe by the authorities.
