With China racing ahead in the Tokyo Olympics
medal tally, time is running out for the United States to catch up with their
new Olympic nemesis.

China has won a total of  32 gold medals in the Summer Games so far,
while also winning 21 silver medals and 16 bronze medals.

Although the United States has more medals in
total with 73, the once Olympic Games leader has won just 24 gold medals in
this edition in Tokyo.

The United States will look towards their
athletes on day 13 of the Summer Games to at least get closer to the Chinese in
the medal tally.

The US campaign on day 13 will be teed off by
golfer Nelly Korda in the Women’s individual event.

In Athletics, Michael Shuey will start his
javelin throw campaign in Group A. Sydney McLaughlin will be in contention in
the Women’s 400m hurdles final. Valerie Constien will run for gold in the
women’s 3000m steeplechase final.

In swimming, Ashley Twichell will fight out
for gold in the Women’s 10km Final. Team USA will feature in the medal race
Men’s 470 sailing event.

In Boxing, Richard Torrez will try to set up a
gold medal bout in the Men’s super heavyweight Semi-final. Oshae Jones will try
to do the same in the Women’s welterweight Semi-final.

In basketball, the US women’s team will take
on Australia in the quarter-finals.

Team USA will face Dominican Republic in the
Women’s Volleyball quarterfinals.

 Other
sports that will feature the athletes from the US will be diving,
skateboarding, sports climbing and much much more.
