Cristiano Ronaldo rescued Manchester United against Atalanta
in the Champions League on Wednesday. The 36-year old scored equaliser in the stoppage
time, fetching a point for his side.

The Portuguese striker phased a low volley produced by winger
Mason Greenwood. It marked Ronaldo’s second goal of the match and fifth in the Champions League this season.

His fans could not stop singing his praises on social
media.

“No one comes close,” a user reacted.

Another added, “When the match is not over, don’t
jubilate because Ronaldo is always Ronaldo. Cristiano Ronaldo hate it when you
celebrate when the match is still on”

A person hailing the performance of the 5 times Ballon
D’or winner wrote, “Cristiano Ronaldo King of comebacks Ororo”

One took to Twitter to appreciate his adaptability, “How
well Ronaldo performs under any manager is not mentioned enough. Simply (G.O.A.T)”

Manchester United’s fans expressed their disappointment at
the dismal performance of the rest of the squad. One such person tweeted, “Ronaldo
vindicating himself from United flop every single match…. CLASS Hundred
points symbol”

The Portuguese striker had also leveled for United at
the end of the first half courtesy of an assist from Bruno
Fernandes.

For his magnificent display, he was named the UEFA player
of the match.

Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said at
the end of the game. “[Ronaldo] is one of the best that’s ever played this
game. I’m sure this is the same feeling Chicago Bulls got with Michael
Jordan…. If you want the ball to fall to someone in the last minute, Cristiano
is the one.”

United had a far from convincing performance to show for after their
3-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

The 2-2 draw keeps them second in the Group F standings with two games
although they are equal on points with Villarreal. While Atalanta is third in
the group.
