In the first UEFA Champions League match of the 2021/22 season, Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is ready to unleash his incredible frontline of Neymar Jr., Kylian Mbappe and the new signing Lionel Messi against Club Brugge in the Group A match on Wednesday.

This is the first time the troika will be fielded together for the first time as on his debut, Messi replaced Neymar so they weren’t on the field together.

Belgian side Club Brugge will have a lot on their plate as their defensive unit will have to deal with one of the most potent attacking lineups on paper in the history of the game.

Paris Saint-Germain (4-3-3)

PSG, who are yet to win the Champions League, will set out in a conventional 4-3-3 with Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe forming the centre-back pairing.

New signing Messi, Achraf Hakimi and Georginio Wijnaldum will be making their Champions League debut for the club. The Argentine maestro has won four UCL titles with his previous club Barcelona and will be hoping to bring the trophy to Paris

Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos is yet to make a start for his new club after joining PSG free from Real Madrid.

In the midfield, Ander Herrera, Leandro Paredes will start along with Wijnaldum.

However, the frontline of Neymar, Messi, Mbappe will be the talk of the town as the mouths of football fans have been watering for weeks thinking about the possibility of watching three of the finest attacking assets playing together.

Club Brugge (3-5-2)

Meanwhile, Club Brugge will be lined in a more expansive 3-5-2 and will be hoping to dominate the midfield and cut down the forward passes to PSG’s attacking trio.

Noa Lang, along with Charles De Ketelaere, will lead Brugge’s attacking unit. Former Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet will be between the sticks for the Belgian club.
