The UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw took place on Friday, March 18.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Villareal, and Benfica earlier progressed to the quarter-final stage of the tournament, which, evidently, has been dominated by English and Spanish teams this season.

Quarter-final 1: Reigning European champions Chelsea drew Real Madrid for their two-legged quarter-final.

The Blues progressed to this stage by beating LOSC Lille 4-1 on aggregate, while Real Madrid knocked out Paris Saint-German by an aggregate score of 3-2.

The first leg of the quarter-final will be played at Stamford Bridge, while the second leg will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Quarter-final 2: Last year’s finalists and Premier League leaders Manchester City, meanwhile, will play Atletico Madrid, and the two-legged tie will take City’s tally of Champions League games to 100.

City progressed to the quarter-finals in style, beating Sporting 5-0 on aggregate, while Atletico beat City’s local rivals, Manchester United, 2-1 on aggregate to progress.

The first leg of the tie will be played at the Etihad Stadium, while the second leg will take place at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Quarter-final 3: Villareal will take on the mighty Bayern Munich for the third quarter-final.

Bayern Munich progressed to the quarter-finals after a resounding 8-2 victory on aggregate over RB Salzburg, while Villareal knocked out Italian giants Juventus, winning their two-legged tie 4-1 on aggregate.

The first leg of the third quarter-final will take place at the Estadio de la Cerámica, while the second leg will take place at the Allianz Arena.

Quarter-final 4: Finally, quadruple aspirants Liverpool will play SL Benfica, wrapping up the quarter-finals.

Liverpool reached the quarter-finals after a slightly nervy 2-1 aggregate win over Inter Milan, while Benfica beat Ajax 3-2 on aggregate to progress.

The first leg of the fourth quarter-final will take place at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, while the return leg will take place at Anfield.

Semi-final 1: The winner of Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid will play the winner of Chelsea vs Real Madrid, which could potentially result in a derby at the semi-final stage.

Semi-final 2: The winner of Liverpool vs SL Benfica will play the winner of Bayern Munich vs Villareal.

Quarter-finals: The first legs of the quarter-final ties will take place on April 5/6, while the return fixtures will take place on April 12/13.

Semi-finals: The first legs of the semi-finals will take place on April 26/27, while the return fixtures will be played on May 3/4.

Final: The final of the UEFA Champions League will take place on May 28 at the Stade de France, after UEFA moved the venue of the final from Russia over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
