Weston McKennie, USMNT midfielder, used a cameraman’s bib to dry his hands for a throw in during his side’s Group B clash against England in the FIFA World Cup 2022. The two sides locked horns at the Al Bayt Stadium on Saturday.

USA and England were tied at 0-0 after the first half.

McKennie taking a throw in for USA, went to the sideline. The player did not find a towel to dry his hands and ended up using the cameraman’s bib.

“Weston McKennie is the funniest footballer in the world. 🤣,” another one tweeted. 

“Did McKennie just wipe his hand on a photographers bib? These Americans, the disrespect!” a third one added.

Meanwhile, McKennie, who plays club football for Serie A club Juventus, missed a golden chance to score the first goal of the game in the 26th minute. Yunus Musah found the midfielder, who got away from Declan Rice, with a cross in the box. But the 24-year-old smashed it over from 10 yards.

On the 33rd minute, USA’s star winger Christian Pulisic put in a left-foot shot onto the crossbar. The Chelsea player, however, was unlucky. 

 USA fans at the Al Bayt stadium kept taking a jibe at their rivals. chanting ‘It’s called soccer’ during the match. Soccer vs Football has been a long-standing debate in the sport.
