Capital One’s ‘The Match’ is underway, with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy teaming up against Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth for a 12-hole exhibition under the light of the historic Pelican Golf Club Course in Belleair, Florida.

The team that makes more holes in fewer strokes will clinch the trophy tonight.  Woods will make his third appearance at the tournament, while Rory, Jordan, and Justin will get their first taste of the Match. However, Woods is making his first competitive appearance since the British Open in July.

One of the highlights of the match came when a fellow golf legend, Annika Sorenstam, approached Woods when he was giving autographs, near his buggy on the day of the match. His eyes lit up when he saw Sorenstam and he immediately gave her a big hug. The two then began chatting as a young fan approached the two of them, probably for an autograph.

Fans on Twitter could not help but gush about the moment. “I can’t decide what I love more – the way Tiger’s face lights up when he sees Annika or the way he introduces himself to Will. Bunch of classy people in this video,” one of the fans said, while another commented, “It is great to see Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam together, isn’t it, LPGA?” A third stated, “Tiger’s reaction to seeing Annika Sorenstam is so wholesome.”

Last year, Woods was involved in a horrible car accident and almost lost his leg. However, a few surgeries later, he was back in the game in July, although he was not fully recovered. As a result, he had to extend his break from the game. While Woods is still not at 100%, Rory is in his best form.
