Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson met and hugged former Vikings’ player and NFL legend Cris Carter before tip-off against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6. The game is played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Justin Jefferson is in his third year in the NFL, after getting drafted as the second overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has played in all of his team’s five matches this season and has recorded 40 receptions for 547 yards along with two touchdowns. The player also holds the second spot, just behind Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp, in most receptions. Kupp has 49 under his name. 

Both of Jefferson’s touchdowns came in Week 1 when his team defeated Green Bay Packers, 23-7. Apart from it, he has two games with 10 or more receptions and three games of at least 140+ receiving yards. The WR also recorded a rushing touchdown versus the New Orleans Saints in Week 4 when they played and won in London.

His meeting with Cris Carter was met with huge cheers from the Minnesota supporters at the Hard Rock Stadium, as Carter holds legendary status for the Vikings franchise. At the same time, Jefferson on the basis of his play in his first three years has been tipped as a future legend for the team.

Cris Carter played as wide receiver for the Vikings’ from the year 1990 to 2001. His number 80 jersey has been retired by the team and he is also a member of the team’s Ring of Honor. As a part of the team, Carter reached numerous heights in his football career. He was the Walter Payton Man of the Year in 1999 and was part of First Team NFL All-Pro twice (1994 and 1999). Along with this, Cris Carter was nominated eight times for the NFL Pro Bowl, while leading the league in receptions in 1994 and was thrice the league’s receiving TD leader in 1995, 1997 and 1999.
