Wrestling fans were handed a bombshell when CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon announced that he is retiring and stepping down from his role. McMahon, who has been associated with wrestling for almost six decades, retired amidst a sexual harassment scandal. However, his daughter Stephanie Mcmahon is taking over his position as interim Chairwoman and CEO, sharing the latter position with WWE President Nick Khan.

“Our global audience can take comfort in knowing WWE will continue to entertain you with the same fervor, dedication, and passion as always,” the 76-year-old wrote in his statement.

“I am extremely confident in the continued success of WWE, and I leave our company in the capable hands of an extraordinary group of Superstars, employees, and executives – in particular, both Chairwoman and Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon and Co-CEO Nick Khan,” he added.

Vince also said that he will be continuing to support WWE in any role he could and thanked everyone associated with the company over the years.

While McMahon has stepped down from his role as CEO and Chairman of WWE, it is not yet clear whether he will be part of the organization’s creative team, which he leads.

His daughter, Stephanie, who has also been associated with WWE for a long time and is taking over as Chairwoman and Co-CEO, has worked in several managerial positions inside the organization since 2007.

“Until the conclusion of the investigation into recent allegations, I am honored to assume the role of interim Chairwoman and CEO,” Stephanie said.

However, unlike the McMahon duo, WWE President Nick Khan has not been part of the company for a long time, joining them in the last two years since August 2020. However, his ideas and leadership has offered rapid growth for both the organization and himself, often being regarded as Vince’s go-to person.

“Nick is a seasoned media executive with a deep understanding of our business and a proven track record of generating significant value for sports and entertainment properties,” Vince McMahon said previously while describing Nick.
