Virat Kohli welcomed Chris Woakes in the fourth over with a beautiful six over extra cover. India face England in the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup at the Adelaide Oval.

Woakes, who was coming off a wicket taking second over, bowled a a full length ball, right in the slot for Kohli. The former India skipper made no mistake and hit a lovely lofted drive over extra cover for a maximum.

This shot was extra special since Chris Woakes was coming after delivering a beautiful second over, in which he dismissed opener KL Rahul. The six drew loud cheers from the Indian fans at the stadium.

Woakes delivered the bowl just back of good length. Rahul couldn’t read the extra bounce off the delivery and couldn’t move his legs to make room. He got an edge and Buttler behind the stumps completed the catch, giving England an early breakthrough. Rahul went back to the pavilion after scoring just five runs off five balls.

India finished the powerplay on a slightly better position after the poor start, thanks to some timely boundaries from Rohit Sharma. India were languishing at 11/1 after three overs. Virat Kohli first ball six set the tone for the counter attack.

Rohit Sharma then went after Sam Curran, hitting the bowler for two consecutive fours to release some pressure from India. The last over of the powerplay was bowled by spinner Adil Rashid. Sharma welcomed him with a boundary straight away. In the end, India finished the powerplay at 38/1.
