Von Miller, linebacker for the Buffalo Bills, suffered a knee injury after he accidentally banged with Detroit Lions’ center Frank Ragnow in the second quarter of the game on Thanksgiving Day at Ford Field in Detroit.

Watch the injury of Von Miller:

Miller appeared to be rolled up on a first-and-10 play at the Bills’ 16-yard line with less than three minutes remaining in the first half.

The Bills’ pass-rusher is in his first season with the team and his 12th in the NFL. Miller was second in the NFL with 37 pressures entering Week 12, trailing only Dallas Cowboys Micah Parsons (44).

As soon as he got hit, Miller collapsed immediately, and Bills medics and head coach Sean McDermott rushed to his aide.  He was carted off the field after spending the majority of the second quarter in the medical tent.

Miller’s injury is a knee sprain, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Miller will have an MRI, among other tests, to confirm the diagnosis on Friday, but will be out for some time, added Rapoport.

At the time of his injury, the eight-time Pro Bowler had made one tackle in the game. Miller had eight sacks and a forced fumble for Buffalo this season after signing in the offseason.

When will Von Miller return?

The former Super Bowl MVP will most likely be out for an extended period of time.

Miller most likely sprained his ACL, as per the video.  He is likely to miss one or two games. However, if his injury is more serious, his season is over. The loss of Miller for the remainder of the season would be devastating to the Buffalo Bills’ chances of competing in the Super Bowl.

The Bills have not yet won the Super Bowl despite making four appearances to the final two of the league. They are the only team in history to have won the Super Bowl four years in a row, 1990-1993.
