While Juventus began their pre-season US tour with a 2-0 victory over Chivas Guadalajara at Allegiant Stadium, the game made headlines for different reasons. Guadalajara fans, who were visiting at the game, caught eyes with their unique celebrations and support, something that did not evade the eyes of many.

Marco da Graca and Mattia Compagnon scored the goals for Juventus as they beat the Mexican side. However, Mexican expats and away fans, who travelled to watch their favourite team, were filmed with their unique celebrations, even in the 110 degrees two hours before kickoff.

Las Vegas Review Journal spoke with one of the Guadalajara fans, Simon Garcia, who has been a fan of the team for four decades, having watched them play at their home stadium in Mexico. Garcia has been to several US stadiums in his life and feels Mexico should have won the FIFA World Cup in the US.

“This (Allegiant Stadium) is one of the best stadiums all around the United States,” he said before adding, “Again, we should’ve had a World Cup here.”

While there were fans waiting to see the Mexican side face off against Juventus, the Italians also had many fans wanting to watch them live. The Serie A giants recently signed French World Cup winner Paul Pogba in a free transfer from Manchester United, who was the main source of attraction for the fans, along with Argentinian star Angel Di Maria.

Other well established stars like Juan Cuadrado, Manuel Locatelli, Wojciech Szczęsny and Danilo were also in attendance and did not disappoint with their performances.

The Turin-based club will be facing Spanish giants FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the US before they head back to Italy to begin their next season’s campaign.
