The entire skyline of Cincinnati lit up in blue, in tribute to the Buffalo Bills after their player, Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the field on Monday night during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The incident happened moments after Hamlin got up from an open-field tackle on Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Within a few seconds, he fell on his back.

ESPN National reporter Coley Harvey tweeted: “Left University of Cincinnati Medical Center a few moments ago. Very classy gesture from the @Bengals, who’ve lit Paycor Stadium in the @BuffaloBills’ blue and white for Damar Hamlin.”
“Driving home from the airport a few moments ago and seeing downtown Cincinnati lit up in blue in support of Damar Hamlin and the Buffalo Bills brought tears to me eyes. People supporting people is what it should always be,” a fan tweeted. Another noted, “With everything that happened to #DamarHamlin people united around this young man, from millions of dollars being donated to his charity, to the city of Cincinnati lighting the buildings in Bills blue, to holding a vigil for him outside UC medical center. Thank you Everyone.”
Buffalo Bills said in a statement on Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday. “Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”
Dr. Anthony Cardillo, an emergency room specialist, told CNN early Tuesday morning that Hamlin’s recovery could depend on how long he was in cardiac arrest after he collapsed.
