The Dallas Cowboys took on the New York Giants in the penultimate match of Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season at the MetLife Stadium on Monday. The Cowboys offense looked in fine form, despite missing starting quarterback Dak Prescott to a thumb injury, as running back Tony Pollard made a 46-yard dash. However, their defense also put up a valiant display, particularly defensive end Demarcus Lawrence.

The Cowboys denied the Giants any points in the first quarter, leading the game 3-0. They went into halftime with a 6-3 lead, which could have been very different if not for 30-year-old Demarcus Lawrence. The defensive end registered 3 sacks in the first two quarters, the most in the game.

The Cowboys defensive end registered 3 sacks in the entirety of the 2021 season and equalled his tally in a single game against the Giants on Monday. This is not the first time Lawrence has registered three sacks in a single NFL game in his career, with the previous coming four years ago, in the 2018 season against the Detroit Lions.

Lawrence suffered a foot injury in the third quarter, which forced him off the field and to the medical tent. He was seen coming out of the tent after some time and warming up on the sidelines. However, a return to the field was reported questionable for the 30-year-old, who returned to the locker room after some time.
