The Colts lead 17-16 at the end of the third quarter. The team scored both their Tds in this 15-minute time period only. RB Jonathan Taylor scored the team’s first rushing endzone points on the night. Then it was the turn of wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr who scored following a throw from QB Matt Ryan from a second and goal-playing position.

It was the third consecutive rushing touchdown in as many games for Taylor and only the fourth overall for the season. He is on course to have his third 10+ carries and 100+ rushing yards game of the season.

The Steelers’ running strategy is dominated by the inside zone and its variations, including mid-zone, split-zone, and duo. Quick throws and fade routes make up the majority of Pittsburgh’s passing strategy. While downfield throws are predominately jumped balls along the sideline, the quick game targets the wide receivers and tight ends in the hook, curl, and flat areas of the field.

This year’s Pittsburgh offense is among the bottom three in the league in terms of total yards covered across both the passing as well as rushing categories. The team has 3,122 total yards in the eleven games played.

The Colts appointed former ESPN analyst and 2007 Super Bowl Winner Jeff Saturday as head coach of the team three weeks ago. Saturday led the team to a victory against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9 in his first outing but had to taste defeat by a single point, 17-16 the next week against league leaders Philadelphia Eagles.

The team is 4-6-1 and currently second in the AFC South, behind division leaders Tennessee Titans.
