The Los Angeles Rams hosted the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season on Sunday, October 9, at the SoFi Stadium. The Rams began the game underwhelmingly, trailing 9-3 in the first quarter, however, came back to make it 16-10 at the end of the second quarter.
However, the highlight of the second quarter came when the Rams’ starting quarterback Matthew Stafford passed to Riley Dixon with a couple of minutes left on the clock. In turn, Dixon executed a fake punt successfully and got the ball for about 12 yards and scored a first down. It was followed by yet another first down by the Rams, however, they could not close the gap with the Cowboys.

At the time of writing this article, the Los Angeles Rams are trailing 19-10 against the Cowboys and are looking more underwhelming in every passing minute. While the likes of Matthew Stafford, Cam Akers, Cooper Kupp and Terrell Burgess have looked sharp in moments, the hosts have failed to put up a collective effort against the Cowboys.

Dixon, on the other hand, has also been underwhelming in the game, as he has registered 3 punts for 123 yards, only one of which was inside the 20 yards line. The 29-year-old has registered 11 punts for 544 yards in the 2022 season so far, with an average of 49.5 yards for every punt. He has also recorded 6 punt returns in 66 yards with an average of 11 yards per punt return so far.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams have won two games and lost as many in the 2022 NFL season so far. Their last defeat came against the San Francisco 49ers on October 4 in the previous week, when they were beaten 24-9. While they are currently in the second spot on the NFC West standings, another loss will certainly affect their position.
