The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers began the week 2 action of the 2022 NFL season on Thursday night. While quarterbacks on both sides, Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert, made headlines, Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams also had a terrific game that astounded many.

The 27-year-old wide receiver made a single-handed touchdown catch in the third quarter and is likely to go down as one of the biggest catches of the ongoing season. Williams’s single-handed grab from a 15-yard touchdown pass from Justin Herbert came in a tight situation but helped the Los Angeles Chargers to take a 17-7 lead.

The touchdown happened in the third quarter, after an 11-play, 75-yard drive. It began with 26-year-old center Will Clapp, who put Corey Linsley at his position when the second half kicked off. The touchdown pass by Justin Herbert impressed many but the catch caught the eyes of even more. Williams was cornered in a tight situation by Chiefs’ cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who could not prevent the Chargers wide receiver from making a one-handed catch to score a touchdown.

The touchdown catch also marked Mike Williams’ eighth catch for 113 yards in the game. He has made 8 catches out of 9 targets for 113 yards and 1 touchdown. His career highest numbers are 9 catches in 165 yards, which he missed by a whisker.
