Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson made headlines on Monday, September 19, when he made a spectacular block to a field goal against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Lincoln Financial Field. The 32-year-old’s block came in the third quarter when the Vikings were trailing 24-7.

Peterson made a stunning block to a 41-yard field goal attempt by the Eagles’ placekicker Jake Elliott. The Vikings soon got the ball inside the Eagles’ territory following a memorable drive. It was also Peterson’s first interception in the game.

The Minnesota Vikings were struggling in the first half against the Eagles, who took a 24-7 lead. The Philadelphia Eagles continued their supremacy in the second half as well, when they attempted a field goal in the third quarter.

The Eagles’ offense looked unbeatable for the majority of the game as they drove down in the field for a field goal attempt for Jake Elliott. While it looked like easy points, it was the Vikings’ Patrick Peterson who made a stunning block from the edge.

Another Vikings cornerback, Kris Boyd, carried the ball to the 29-yard line of the Eagles’ territory. For a moment, it seemed like a change of momentum for the hosts, however, Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins followed with an interception to Avonte Maddox on the left side.

While the Vikings’ special team unit displayed a good performance against the Eagles, Peterson did not look to be convincing in the match. Apart from the interception, he did not do anything in the game.

The highlight of the game, however, was Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who made a spectacular 53-yard touchdown pass to Quez Watkins, who converted to give his side a 14-0 lead. Hurts has since completed 26 out of 31 passes for 333 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
