New Orleans Saints’ safety Marcus Maye was involved in a fourth-quarter scuffle between teammate and cornerback Marshon Lattimore against Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ wide receiver Mike Evans during the team’s Week 2 match held at the Mercedez Benz Superdome. 

After an incomplete pass, Lattimore went after Buccaneers WR Scottie Miller. He was then seen having words with Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and running back Leonard Fournette.

Fournette and Lattimore began shoving each other before Evans intervened, sprinting from the sideline to shove Lattimore. Fournette was not thrown out of the game for his involvement but both Evans and Lattimore were ejected from the game.

 Maye had three tackles with one assisted in the game. Before being thrown out of the game, Lattimore had just one tackle to his name which was also assisted. Wide receiver Mike Evans caught the ball three times and had 61 yards for the game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the New Orleans Saints 20-10 to secure their second successive victory in this year’s NFL while the Saints got their first defeat of the season.

Brady completed just 18 out of his 34 passes for 190 yards and threw a touchdown as well while Jameis Winston of the Saints did not have a great game as he threw three interceptions while only scoring one touchdown in the game. 

Marcus Maye was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft by the New York Jets following which he signed a four-year, $6.55 million contract with a $3.66 million guarantee and a $2.90 million signing bonus with the team. He was signed by the Saints before the start of the 2022 NFL season for a three-year, $28.5 million contract.
