Kadarius Toney, who shifted base to Kansas from the New York Giants recently, scored his first touchdown for the Chiefs on Sunday. The wide receiver did a tip-toe over the goal line vs Jacksonville Jaguars at Arrowhead Stadium.

Watch:

At the first and goal position near the Jacksonville goal line, Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes found an open Toney through a short flat pass, who had run from the left side of the field to the extreme right of the field, confusing the Jaguars defenders, leaving him alone on that side.

As he caught the football, he did not know that the sideline was so near and to prevent himself from falling or touching that side of the ground, he opted for jumping on his right leg alone, scoring in the end.

In just his second year in the league, the player has been traded once. New York Giants drafted the WR as the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He then signed a $13.7 million, four-year deal.

Toney had only four receptions through the first three games of his rookie season. In Week 4, he had six receptions for 78 yards in a victory over the New Orleans Saints, 27-21, in overtime. The best game of his young career came in Week 5 vs the Dallas Cowboys where he recorded10 catches for 189 yards and shattered Odell Beckham Jr.’s rookie receiving mark for the Giants.

Due to an oblique injury, Toney was sidelined for four weeks of the season. Wide Receiver Kenny Golladay finished the season with more receiving yards than Toney did for the Giants.

Week 2 of the 2022 season saw Toney suffer a hamstring injury. He would miss five games for the Giants as a result of the injury. On October 27, 2022, Toney was dealt to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for third and sixth-round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.
