The new NBA season kicks off in a few months’ time and fans from all around the world are eagerly waiting to watch the biggest basketball league on the planet. 

A typical NBA season features a team playing 82 regular season games and a maximum of 28 post-season/playoff games. There are certain dates for which the fans keenly look forward to watching it. These are generally the opening night games, Christmas day games, Martin Luther King Jr Day and the playoffs. ESPN, TNT, ABC and NBA TV are the broadcast partners of the NBA and have split the games between them. 

The NBA All-Star game is scheduled for February 19, 2023, in Salt Lake city, Utah. The game will be broadcasted by TNT.

Opening Night: –

The TNT network will once again broadcast the opening night matches. This will be their 39th straight season of covering the league. The league will kick off in October, with the first two matches of the season will be played on the 18th of that month. The Golden State Warriors host the Los Angeles Lakers at 10:30 E.T while in the eastern conference, the Philadelphia 76ers take on last season’s NBA finalists, Boston Celtics at 7:30 E.T. Fans across the world can tune in to TNT to watch these matches. Indian fans can watch these games on Voot Select, Jio TV and MTV.

Christmas Day: –

Christmas Day games are generally the most viewed games of the year. Many high-profile players with the likes of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Lebron James have played on this day. This year is no different with Lebron and the Lakers taking on Luka Doncic and his Dallas Mavericks. In another game of the day, Memphis Grizzlies take on the Golden State Warriors. Ja Morant repeatedly called out for this game to happen and his wish was approved by the NBA. ESPN will cover all the matches on this day.

Martin Luther King Jr Day: –

MLK Day is of high significance for the NBA as it celebrates the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr, the chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement of the USA, which protested racial discrimination in federal and state law. TNT will broadcast the Atlanta Hawks vs Heat at 3:30 p.m. ET, while the Suns will travel to Memphis to face the Grizzlies at 6 p.m. E.T
