Aaron Rodgers missed his favorite wide receiver in Davante Adams as he struggled to find his targets and ended the game with zero touchdowns and more importantly an interception as his side were defeated by the Minnesota Vikings in the first week of the 2022 NFL Season. Rodgers completed just 22 out of 34 for 196 yards. 

One of the greatest quarterbacks in National Football League (NFL) history, Aaron Rodgers, plays for the Green Bay Packers. The 37-year-old ranks third in NFL (min. 1,500 attempts) in career passer rating (103.9), second in TD/INT ratio (4.63, 412/89) and No 1 in interception percentage (1.35). Rodgers is one of only four players, since 1961, to win the league MVP three-plus times.  

As of March 2022, he is the highest paid NFL player. Upon signing a $200 million, 4 year extension contract with the Green Bay Packers, his average annual salary became $50 million.  

Born in 1983, Rodgers played college football for the California Golden Bears of UC, Berkeley. At a young age, the three-time NFL MVP set several career passing records, including lowest single-season and career interception rates.

It was in the 2005 NFL Draft that Aaron Rodgers was selected  in the first round by the Green Bay Packers. Rising through the ranks, he became starting quarterback in 2008. In 2010, Rodgers  earned the Super Bowl MVP as he led the Packers to victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was then awarded a six-year, $65 million contract extension by the franchise. 

Nicknamed ‘A-Rod’, Rodgers is the only NFL player ever who in his first two years as a starter was able to achieve consecutive 4,000-yard passing campaigns. He led the NFL in total touchdowns (2011, 2016, 2020) and twice in touchdown passes (2016, 2020).

In 2017, Aaron Rodgers could play only seven games due to a broken collarbone. The same year the Packers failed to make it to the playoffs. In 2019, Rodgers threw for 4,002 yards and 26 touchdowns. In the following postseason, Green Bay won its first playoff game but lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game.

Rodgers has three All-Pro selections, nine Pro Bowl selections and the 2011 Bert Bell Award (Player of the Year) to his name. He was named to the 2010s All-Decade Team by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, one of two QBs (Brady) selected to the team by the HOF’s 48-member selection committee.

In August 2018, Aaron Rodgers signed a record contract extension worth $134 million with the Green Bay Packers that ran through the 2023 season. He was reportedly unhappy with the Green Bay Packers’ management in 2020
