After completion of the training camp in 2022, in an interview with NFL Network’s Omar Ruiz, Allen Robinson said, he is “learning the offense and being the best version of myself.”

“Fine-tuning my game, figuring out how my style of play fits into their offense,” Robinson added.

Who is Allen Robinson?

  Allen Bernard Robinson II is an American football wide receiver who currently plays for the National Football League‘s Los Angeles Rams (NFL). The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Robinson signed a three-year, $46.5 million contract with the Rams on March 17, 2022. 

Allen Robinson was born on August 24, 1993, in Detroit city of Michigan. He went to St. Mary’s Preparatory high school where he played football. He led the school team to the Division 3 State in his senior year. He was also a member of the school’s track and field team in addition to football.

On November 29, 2010, Robinson agreed to play for the Penn State University’s Nittany Lions football team after being recruited by coach Ron Vanderlinden. Minnesota, Buffalo, and Toledo had also made him an offer.

College Career: – 

During his freshman year in 2011, Robinson appeared in 12 games and caught three passes for 29 yards. Robinson had 77 receptions for 1,018 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns in his sophomore season. His 77 receptions were the most in school history for a sophomore. For the 2012 season, he received the Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year award, which is given to the conference’s most valuable football player.

As a junior, his final season at the collegiate level, he had 97 receptions for 1,432 yards and six touchdown receptions while starting all 12 regular season games. He announced on January 2, 2014, that he would forego his senior season and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

NFL Career: –

Robinson was chosen 61st overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ second-round pick in 2014, trailing Marqise Lee (39th overall). Robinson signed a four-year, $3.51 million contract with the Jaguars on June 21, 2014, with $1.17 million guaranteed and a $877,718 signing bonus.

Robinson finished his rookie season with 48 receptions for 548 yards and two touchdowns while starting eight and playing in ten games. Robinson finished his sophomore season with 80 receptions for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. During the 2015 season, he led the Jaguars in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns and was the first player in franchise history to be the league leader in receiving touchdowns, an honor he shared with  Doug Baldwin (Seattle Seahawks) and Brandon Marshall (New York Jets). This also earned him a Pro Bowl nomination for the season, which is his only to this date.

Robinson finished the 2016 season with 73 receptions for 883 yards and six touchdown receptions. He was injured in Week 1 of the 2017 NFL season against the Houston Texans, and the injury was later determined to be a torn ACL.

Robinson agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears on a three-year, $42 million contract on March 14, 2018. Robinson finished the 2018 season with 55 receptions for 754 yards and four touchdowns. In that season, he was ranked 28th among wide receivers by Pro Football Focus. Robinson finished the 2019 season with a career-high of 98 receptions for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns. Robinson was given the franchise tag by the Bears on March 9, 2021.

He signed a one-year contract on March 24 to play with the team. His final year at Chicago ended with him having 38 receptions for 410 yards and 1 receiving TD.

Robinson agreed to terms with the Rams on a three-year, $46.5 million contract on March 17, 2022.
