Bashaud Breeland, a former Super Bowl winner and cornerback in the NFL, was taken into custody this week in Charlotte, North Carolina, following a traffic check. Based on a police report that was obtained by several sources on Wednesday, he is now facing a number of charges, including possession of a stolen car, guns, and drugs.
Who is Bashaud Breeland?
Bashaud Breeland is an American professional football player who primarily plays as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on January 30, 1992, and is currently 31 years old.
Breeland joined the NFL after being selected by the Washington Football Team (formerly known as the Washington Redskins) in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Before going pro, Breeland played college football at Clemson University.

Breeland has built a great reputation for himself as a versatile secondary player throughout his career. Before signing on with the Green Bay Packers in 2018 and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019, he played for the Washington Football Team for numerous seasons. He played a key role in the Chiefs’ defense during their Super Bowl LIV victory in the 2019 season.
Rivals.com gave Breeland a three-star rating while Scout.com and ESPN.com ranked him as the No. 56 safety in the country and No. 6 player in South Carolina, respectively. He chose Clemson over Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech.

Apart from football, Breeland also played basketball and ran track. Breeland won the state championship in the 400-meter hurdles in track & field as a sophomore and junior and assisted his team in winning the state championship. At the 2010 SCHSL State Championships, he won the 110-meter hurdles by 15.06 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles by 54.78 seconds, taking home two state championships.
In the 300-meter hurdles event at the 2010 Bob Hayes Invitational, Breeland ranked tenth with a time of 40.69 seconds. He also achieved bench press and squat records of 280 and 450 pounds, and his 40-yard sprint time was 4.41.
