The Cowboys extended their lead as CeeDee Lamb secures a 22-yard touchdown reception, marking his second touchdown of the game.

In the first half, Lamb has recorded an impressive nine receptions for 122 yards and those two touchdowns, setting new personal records for both yardage and matching his highest single-half touchdown count.

Who is CeeDee Lamb?

CeeDee Lamb was born on April 8, 1999, in Opelousas, Louisiana. He did his schooling at John and Randolph Foster High School in Richmond, Texas after his family had been evacuated to Texas from Louisiana following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. After a record-breaking senior year in which he led his school to a 14-1 win record, he received All-State, Houston Touchdown Club’s Offensive Player of the Year, and the Houston Chronicle’s All-Greater Houston Football Offensive Player of the Year honours.

He was rated a four-star recruit by most scouting agencies coming out of high school and after considering offers from the University of Alabama and the University of Texas, among others, chose the University of Oklahoma as the place to continue his development as a football player, playing his collegiate football for the Oklahoma Sooners from 2017–2019.

Lamb played all 14 games for the Sooners in 2017, his true freshman year. He finished his freshman season with 46 receptions for 807 yards, which is a school freshman record, and seven touchdowns, also a school freshman record.

His impressive freshman year saw him receive freshman All-American honours by ESPN.

His sophomore year, 2018, saw him improve his numbers further as he made 65 receptions for 1,152 receiving yards and a team-leading 11 receiving touchdowns. Taking on punting duties for the Sooners, he also registered 17 returns for 218 yards. In his junior year, Lamb caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns, which was enough to see him named a First-team All-American. He was also a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the best football receiver in college sports.

He decided to forgo his senior year at Oklahoma and made himself available for the 2020 NFL Draft. On July 23, 2020, the Dallas Cowboys handed Lamb a 4-year $14.01 million dollar rookie contract after snagging him in the 1st round of the draft as the 17th overall selection.

Lamb made his professional and NFL debut on Week 1 of the 2020 season against the Los Angeles Rams, recording 5 receptions for 59 yards in a 20–17 loss. He finished his rookie season with 74 receptions for 935 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns to go along with one rushing touchdown. The following year he enjoyed his first 1,000 yards plus season making a team-leading 79 receptions for 1,102 yards and 6 touchdowns and was rewarded with his first-ever Pro Bowl call-up.
