Christian Watson is an American Wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League. He was selected as the 34th overall pick by the Packers in the 2022 NFL draft.

Growing up in Tampa, Florida, Watson attended Henry B. Plant High School. As a senior, he caught 23 passes for 393 yards and eight touchdowns. He joined the North Dakota State University to play for the college’s NDS Bison Football team. Watson decided to redshirt his true freshman season. As a freshman, he caught nine passes for 165 yards as the Bisons won the 2018 FCS National Championship. In his sophomore season, he caught 34 passes for 732 yards and six touchdowns, earning second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors.

In his Junior season on the team, Christian Watson recorded 19 catches for 442 yards and one touchdown. He was named first-team All-MVFC and 1st team All-American(AP) as an All-Purpose player for the season, which was shortened due to COVID-19. Watson was also named second-team All-American(AP) after catching 43 passes for 801 yards and seven touchdowns in his redshirt senior season. He also played in the 2022 Senior Bowl, where he was named National Wide Receiver of the Week.

During his four years at North Dakota University, he accumulated a total of 2,140 receiving yards while also rushing for 392 yards. He tallied a grand total of 16 touchdowns during the process.

Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network has called Watson a “long, rangy wideout with remarkable fluidity and explosiveness.” Watson ran 4.36 at 6-4 and 208 pounds during the NFL combine.

He was the first Wide receiver to be selected in the second round and the seventh overall in the draft. He is expected to play an important role in the upcoming season as Green Bay looks to finally end an 11-year drought of not winning the NFL championship.
