Chuba Robert-Shamar Hubbard is a professional American
football running back in the National Football League for the Carolina Panthers (NFL).

He was born in Sherwood Park, Canada, on June 11, 1999. In
college, he was part of the Oklahoma State football team.

Hubbard played Canadian football for Bev Facey Community
High School in Sherwood Park, Alberta. During his three years on the field, he
ran for 6,880 yards and 82 touchdowns on 458 attempts. He committed to play
collegiate football in the United States at Oklahoma State University.

Hubbard participated in 13 games in 2018 after redshirting
his first year at Oklahoma State in 2017. He totaled 740 running yards on 124
touches with seven touchdowns. In 2019, he was named the starting running back
for Oklahoma State. He rushed for 2,094 yards on 328
attempts and 21 touchdowns in the whole year. Hubbard stated that he would return to school for
his redshirt junior year, despite expectations that he may declare for the 2020
NFL Draft following this season.

Chuba Hubbard won the Jon Cornish Trophy as the best
Canadian in NCAA Division One football for the 2019-20 season, beating out
Notre Dame senior wide receiver Chase Claypool.

After a photo appeared of Oklahoma State head coach Mike
Gundy wearing a T-shirt endorsing the One America News Network, a far-right
news station, Hubbard vowed to boycott the football team and any association
with the institution in June 2020. Gundy later apologised, claiming that OAN’s
coverage of the Black Lives Matter movement sickened him.

The Carolina Panthers picked Chuba Hubbard in the fourth
round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Calgary Stampeders selected him in the fifth
round (43rd overall) in the 2021 CFL Draft. Hubbard signed a four-year, $4.2
million agreement with the Panthers on May 6, 2021.
