Who is Damien Harris?
Damien Harris is an American football player who plays for the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Damien Harris was born on February 11, 1997 in Richmond city of Kentucky and attended the Madison Southern High School. He rushed for 6,748 yards and 122 touchdowns in high school football.
Harris agreed to play for the University of Alabam’s Crimson Tide football team, under Head Coach Nick Saban.
College Career: –
As a true freshman at Alabama in 2015, Harris served as a backup to Derrick Henry. He appeared in 12 games and gained 157 yards on 46 carries. When Henry left the team the following year, Damien Harris took over as the team’s starting running back. In his college career, the player appeared in 54 games and completed 477 passes for 3070 yards and 23 touchdowns.

NFL Career: –
The Patriots selected Harris as the 87th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he played in just 2 games and managed to record 4 passing attempts for 13 yards.
In the week 4 clash against the Kansas City Chiefs in his second season, Harris had 7 carries for 100 rushing yards. Four weeks later, in a match versus the Buffalo Bills, he recorded 16 carries for 102 yards and his first career rushing touchdown which the team eventually lost 24-21.

Through 10 games, he was the Patriots’ leading rusher, with 691 yards and two touchdowns. For the 2021 season, Harris was the team’s primary starter. He started the first nine games of the season, but a concussion suffered in Week 9 kept him out of the following game against the Cleveland Browns. He began splitting carries with backup Rhamondre Stevenson from Week 8.
