Denzel Ward is an American football player who plays for the Cleveland Browns in the National Football League. He plays the cornerback position on the defensive team. Ward was drafted by the Browns team in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Denzel Ward was born on April 28, 1997, in Macedonia city, Ohio, and attended the Nordonia High School. He made a commitment to play for the football team of Ohio State University. In 2015, Ward participated in 12 games while a true freshman, making 7 tackles. He participated in all 13 games as a sophomore in 2016 and recorded 23 tackles. In 2017, Ward started as a junior. Ward made the decision not to participate in the 2017 Cotton Bowl before the 2018 NFL Draft.

NFL Career:- 

Ward was chosen by the Cleveland Browns as the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. In July 2018, the Browns inked Ward to a four-year, $29.16 million contract with a $19.29 million signing bonus that is fully guaranteed. In 13 games, of which he started 12, he finished his rookie campaign with 53 tackles,3 interceptions, 11 pass deflections, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. He was selected for both the NFL All-Rookie Team and the Pro Bowl. Ward helped the Cleveland Browns secure a 22-17 victory in Week 11 over the Philadelphia Eagles by recording 4 pass deflections and an interception late in the fourth quarter off a pass thrown by Carson Wentz.

For the Browns, Ward had a very successful season in 2021 with 43 tackles, 10 pass deflections, and 3 interceptions. He received his second career selection to the Pro Bowl, which will take place in 2022. On April 18, 2022, Ward agreed to a five-year extension with the Cleveland Browns worth $100.5 million, with 71.25 million guaranteed.
