Ehsan Khan participated in Hong Kong’s Asia Cup qualifying tournament and took a combined 9 wickets in three games. He is in Hong Kong’s squad that will compete in the 2022 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Who is Ehsan Khan?

Ehsan Khan was born on December 24, 1984, and is a Hong Kong national team cricketer. He is a right-arm off-break bowler. On August 30, 2016, he made his first-class cricket debut against Ireland in the 2015-17 ICC Intercontinental Cup. On September 5, 2016, he made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against the same nation. On September 8, 2016, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Scotland, taking a wicket with his first delivery.

Khan took four wickets for 33 runs against Afghanistan in a 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier match at Bulawayo Athletic Club in Bulawayo on March 8, 2018 as Hong Kong won the match under the Duckworth-Lewis method. The player was given the man of the match award for his performance.

ICC named him the rising star of the country’s squad post the tournament. He was named to the squad for the 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier tournament in August 2018. After the team won the qualifier tournament, he was named to the final squad for the 2018 Asia Cup.

He was named to the team for the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament in Namibia in April 2019. He was named one of six players to keep an eye on during the tournament.

He was named to Hong Kong’s squad for the 2022 Uganda Cricket World Cup Challenge League B tournament in May 2022 and later featured in the country’s Asia Cup qualifying matches. He took four wickets each against UAE in the final match of the event. He will be playing in the 2022 Asia Cup.

For his career, the right-arm bowler has taken 29 ODI wickets and 39 T20I wickets.
