Elijah Moore, the wide receiver for the New York Jets, played in one preseason game for the upcoming NFL season. This was against the Philadelphia Eagles where he had one reception for nine yards.

Who is Elijah Moore?

Elijah Moore is an American football player who plays for the New York Jets in the National Football League. Moore was drafted by the Jets in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He was born on March 27, 2000 in Sunrise city of Florida state and attended the St. Thomas Aquinas Moore High School was named an Under Armour All-American as a senior after catching 28 passes for 407 yards and five touchdowns. Moore committed to play football for the Ole Miss Rebels football team.

College Career: –

Moore caught 36 passes for 398 yards and two touchdowns as a true freshman. He led the Rebels with 67 receptions, 850 yards, and six touchdown catches as a sophomore.

Moore was called for unsportsmanlike conduct after pretending to be a dog urinating in the end zone following a touchdown in the 2019 Egg Bowl against Mississippi State. As a result, the extra point attempt was moved from 20 yards to 35 yards, which was missed as Ole Miss lost 21-20.

In his junior season, On October 31, 2020, he set a new school record for receiving yards in a game with 238 yards while also tying the Ole Miss game records for receptions with 14 and touchdown catches with three.

NFL Career: –

Moore was drafted in the second round as the 34th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. Moore signed a four-year, $8.94 million rookie contract with the Jets on July 21, 2021. 

Moore started his rookie season as a wide receiver. In Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts, he scored his first career touchdown on seven catches for 84 yards and two touchdowns. He had eight catches for 141 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins. In Week 13, versus the Philadelphia Eagles, he suffered a quad injury and was placed on injured reserve on December 11, 2021.
